Fire Damage uggggh!!!
What luck.... I returned from my Labor-day vacation to find my car destroyed by
a car fire that started from a truck parked next to me at the airport parking lot.
I'm pretty sure my car will be totalled but I am not sure how much I should settle for. If any of you has had your car totalled how should I go about to get the best settlement from the other guys insurance co?
It's a 95 Acura GSR in very good condition
77000 miles
DC Sports Ceramic Header
Upper Strut Bar
OEM Side Skirts (just bought them 3mo ago)
Short Ram Intake
clear corners
Kenwood AMP
17in Enkei Wheels RF-1 in excellent condition
2 yoko paradas tires <2 months old 99% tread
2 Nittos NT-450 85% tread
The car was well taken care of and NEVER raced...
I'm sure some of my mods are worth nothing but what can I expect to get?
Any tips with dealing with the insurance co will be appreciated.
I have no interest in buying back the car. I just purchased a new home so please
no inquires on parts.
Thanks.....

try to make them give you bluebook for the car, and pay for the mods, wheather they would pay for them normally or not, because they are still your property, that was destroyed by his car, tell them you want bluebook puls like 75% of mods value.
One big thing... Find all the receipts you can for any mods you have and any labor that was done to the car. If your car was pretty damaged, they may hassle you as to whether the parts were there or not. Also, who's insurance are you dealing with? I hope it's not your insurance company. Whoever owned the truck is responsible by law (unless my brain just quick working) and their insurance pretty much has no choice as to covering your car. If not, find a cheap lawyer to help you out.
