Default Finally swapped to 5spd!

Well its been over a week, car is finally back from the shop. 5spd LS tranny is in.

Needless to say it was hell for them, between getting shafted from people on here with parts that weren't what they said they were, to mounts, and throttle cables not fitting.

Cruise control no longer works, my egt and boost gauge dont work right now. Reverse switch is bad, so I gotta replace that. Have to take the stupid D4 and P bulbs out cause they just constantly blink or are on.

I also swapped in a 95ls 5spd ecu (obd1) and holy christ, it feels weird driving around without the check engine light on..... its amazing, I almost miss it since Its been like that for about 7 months.

All in all the car is now SOOO much more amazing its disgusting. I recommend it to anyone that doesn't or is too past the option of selling their car for a manual.

Parts used:
LS tranny
Action stage 2 ks clutch (little stiff, but other then that feels like stock)
Stock LS flywheel
Everything else is just parts.....

Awesome! Congrats Man!

Where did you have it done? I am in NY and am looking to do this too

I am way too attached to my car to sell it and hearing you say how much it changes the car makes me what to do it even more now!

Yes I had a turbo automatic car.

I had it done at RPMNYC (www.rpmnyc.com)

The clutch engagement is smooth, have to get used to the brand new throttle cable tho, it gases it good when you just tap it. I love the clutch, its just a tad stiffer then a stock integra.

I don't wanna talk about that labor+parts costs, due to all the fitament and wrong parts problems it was ALOT lets just say that, not the shops fault, people who sold me the axles and shift boot fucked me basically, but I rigged up the shift boot (ultra ghetto) but it looks nice and works for now till I get a stock one.

JV: its broken, they said the actual contact in the tranny is shot so I need to buy one. The VSS works fine tho :D. One other thing, its grinding reverse mabye I just suck but its grinded twice so far, but all the other gears are fine.

And to the guy that wanted to get a 5spd swap done, just make SURE you get all the RIGHT parts and in the corresponding year of your car, IE a 99 tranny for a 99 car......

how did the auto tranny hold up with the turbo???

and it probaly grinds when you put it in reverse b/c you have to put in it a low gear then go to reverse. something about how reverse isnt synchonized or some ****.

Eh? I thought that if you switch an auto to a manual it would be bad. But I guess not, but **** thats a lot of things you have to fix.

I'm swapping my auto LS to a manual JRSC LS. Its almost done too. I just have to put the drivetrain back in the car. Hasn't been nearly as bad as I expected, although I still haven't tackled the wiring yet, but this is something that almost anyone could do given enough time. I have just been doing it really slowly and only worked on it two days a week for like 3-4 hrs. Anyway it should be fun taking my auto beater and makin it S/C and 5sp. I'm also doing the suspension, brakes, and body work on it. Don't worry I've got about 200 pics of the progress, and I will start an album when the project is running.
