Both cars have B18A1's

B = series
18 = divide the number by 10 to get the displacement
A = usually differentiates the head
1 = distinguishes type (or generation), something like that.

The block code is stamped on the tranny side of the block below the head.

I have to agree with the "B" and the "18" part, however being that both the B18A1 and the B18B1 use PR4 heads, then that eliminates that theory (also when considering the B18C1 uses a P72 head and the B18C5 uses a PR3 head, it eliminates the theory even more). We don't know Honda's method for choosing engine codes past the third digit, your best bet is to just learn them.

last i checked.. this was a free country. He could be here if he so chooses to be here. Just because he doesn't own a honda, doesn't mean he isn't allowed to be here.

read my signature. i'm tired of american cars!! give me jap stuff please. they are so much easier to work on. better gas milage, more people to race, and cheap. so help me get rid of mine so i can get a hatch. my friend has an h22 for me, all i need is the car to put it in!! so that is why i'm here.
