Im looking at purchasing a gsr and the car's owner says that it sputters when he drives sometimes. He said that if i rev it to a higher rpm (5-6k) and let it drop it will stop sputtering. What exactly (i understand this is a tremendously vague question) but are there any obvious symptoms. He said he changed ecus and its still happening. Thanks!

 

could need new plugs and wires, new cap and rotor is all i can think of at this time.

Do a compression test. Maybe bent valve? Just a thought - throwing out ideas.

Clogged fuel filter, injectors, O2 sensor (doubtful?) plugs wires like said ^

Would look for a car with fewer headaches unless its dirt cheap.
