Default Engine specs and codes

B18B1 is LS block, usdm 1.8 liter,
some guy told me that he located a b18 JDM 2.0, told me that all b18s are 2.0 liter in japan. now my other resource told me that its impossible to have a b18 2.0 liter, that would be a b20 instead. I know that b20s, although a little more powerful are also a little heavier and not something I would really want to drop into my teg. I need a new motor, but now I'm really confused as to what is what.

is it possible to have a 2.0 b18? is the first guy wrong or the second guy? if it ends up being a b20, I would just prefer to go with a b18c1 (gsr i think). Please let me know what this sounds like to you, I'm confused off my rocker and I need a new motor asap. Thanks you helpful honda-tech guys.

Whoever told you that is a .. Dumbass

b20 is out of the honda CRV, a b18 can Not be a b20,
you could bore it out to be a 2.0, but it would still not be an Actual "b20".

USDM
b18b1 - ls
b18c1 - gsr
b18c5 - type-r

Then you can have stuff like the b18c, which can be a type-r, or gsr from japan,
but also a b20 isn't heavier then a b18, if at all maybe 1-2lbs, but not like 30-40lbs.

Just get the GS-R motor if you have the money. A B20 engine is going to be nearly just as slow when stock as a B18, although it will have some more torque down low.

just get a B18B1 (LS) motor. they're cheap... and if you need to save on cash.. that would be the way to go! you could get that motor for about $400

I myself own a Integra GSR and love it. Mine pulls really hard and its just stock right now. And I've driven an LS before and wasn't really empressed with the power it gave out. Don't get me wrong they have power put you need more work on the LS motor in order to even compete with the GSR. But it is all up to you. Do you want v-tec or not? or what are you planning to do: turbo, all motor?

but it all depends on what you want to do... best option in my opinion, is to buy the LS motor, then save for the GS-R motor, and depending on what you want, keep both motors, but which ever one that you're not using, keep it on the side and build the f*ck out of it. just my 2¢

I want to eventualy do ITR Boost, but it's going to be some time before I do that. looking at LS boost righ tnow to save the risk of higher compression. LS VTEC boost doesn't seem rational.

I just want an LS motor.
