Hey guys,

So... rebuilt my 2001 integra gsr and have had it running great for about 1000km, and then all of a sudden last night on my way home... and it started to do this..

it doesn't do it all the time, mainly 2500-3000 rpm at idle, and 3500-4000 rpm while driving, it also seems more predominant when at 1/4 throttle...

I have a feeling its something in the bottom end, just looking for a confirmation please.

In the rebuild it got new rod and main bearings, all new seals and gaskets ect...

Definitely spun a bearing, or a rod end has come loose (doubtful).

- Oil level was at correct point?
- Were the bearing clearances checked during assembly?
- Properly TQ'd?
- Etc

 

Well you are correct, spun #4 rod bearing.
Everything was installed the best i could, checked clearances, torqued to spec etc.
Took the car 1200km to do this, was running great until this happened... now to make a plan to pull this motor apart again....

 

What were your bearing clearences?
