Default engine idling high

i have a 95 ls in a 94 hatch. my engine is idling high even after it gets to operating temp. it never used to do this until after i replaced the headgasket. i didnt touch the idle screw. it is also spitting out a funny smelling white smoke out of the exhaust. i just replaced the headgasket, timing belt, water pump, and thermostat
anyone know why it would be doing this?
i hope to god its not a cracked sleeve

Did you check all vacuum lines? is your throttle body adjusted correctly? did you switch the map sensor with the iacv? what test have you done? is there a check engine light? why did you do the head gasket? Was there smoke before you did the head gasket? Does the smoke smell like coolant? IS there air bubbles in the radiator?

I need my car fixed can you fix it?

vaccum lines are ok. i didnt touch the throttle body since it ran last so i think thats ok. i put all the sensors and hoses back in their correct spot. no check engine light. i just got my car in garage where its warm so the only test i have done is a compression test and that was fine. yes there was smoke before i replaced the headgasket. that was ONE of the reasons why i replaced it. yes the smoke smells like coolant. no bubbles in the radiator. and why would you ask me to fix your car?

i just took my car out for a test drive and the smoke went away after driving for a few min
also after runing the engine for a little while the idle started to surge up and down instead of just staying high so im pretty sure i need to clean my IACV.. corect?
thanks for the imput
