Default engine is hot when its cold

hey my engine is reading that the oil is extremely hot when i know that the engine is dead cold. any suggestions?

Do you have an oil temp gauge, or are you talking about the oil pressure warning light coming on?

try changing temp. censor

make sure gauge is reading correctly

well the problem was solved. the engine temp sensor was blown out. From what it looked liked the wire was thought to be the problem. I checked out the voltage on it though and it turned out fine. I finally bought the sensor and fixed a very small problem thrown out of proportion.
