More than likely its the fan relay or a temp sensor. My old DA use to do that and it ended up being the fan relay, but ive also heard of a coolant temp. sensor being a culprit of that.
my car does the same exact thing. its the fan timers/relays there 3 under the hood u can get them from the dealer maybe aftermarket . i havent gotten around to changing mine yet but i know its that
damn .. anyone knows how to do it.. .how much part cost ?? what does this fan acually do ?? i herd ppl say all kinds of crazy ****...
any help would be great !

well i work for acura ill try and get a price on them for you retail of course. its pretty important fan. i blew the fuse to it once when installing my alarm and i drove for like maube 15 minutes looked down and saw the temp gauge go to almmost red so yea its important
If you wanna make sure if it's the relay swap out the relay with another one, that should help you narrow down the problem. There are several identical relays in your car. BTW, is it the one for the AC or the one that cools the engine? You can unhook the one for the AC until summer time and get away with it but I wouldn't just unhook the one for the engine.

Depends, what codes is it giving you? What do you mean but how? Do you know what the relays look like and where to find them? And do you know if it's the AC or the one for the engine coolant that keeps running?
mine does this as well. Ill check and see if its the Ac or engine cooling fan. I dont know where the relays are though. I have a hynes manual but it sucks
OK, the relays are in a couple locations (to all the flamers out there F off if I'm off by a couple inches alright, cause ya'll never have anything to say when people need help just when you wanna talk **** and tell people to look it up)
Anyhow, basic description of the relays, they're little black approx. 1.5 inch by 1 inch, they have a little metal tab with a hole in it which is how they're mounted, you'll generally find them mounted close to the core suppore (kinda under the headlights) but don't confuse them with the headlight relays. They have a little rubber boot protecting them, and a 3 or 4 wire plug, plugged into them. Best way to be sure of which relay you're looking at is to just trace the wire from the fan until you find them. Might be easier to find it from underneath if you take the plastic panel/splash guard off. Should be one on the passenger side for the engine coolant fan and don't quote or F'ing flame me but I think the AC fan relay is on the driver side of the radiator held onto the support with a 10 MM bolt. As long as they're identical, you can swap one out for the other and narrow down the problem that way. If the fan keeps running with a different relay you probably have a different problem.

You said the Check engine light came on right? If you have CEL you need to jump the little blue plug that's down under the glove box (just put a wire from one side of the plug to the other, turn on the ignition (not all the way on just like a click or two) then look at the flashing light next to your speedo, count the number of times it flashes, then cross reference the number of flashes with a helms or haynes or chiltons manual. BTW, long flashes count as 10, quick flashes count as 1.
OK I think your car, what you need to do is pull back the carpet on the passenger side, turn the key on to the 1st or 2nd click, and just look at the little blinking red light on the floor board same basic thing applies regarding the flashes, don't think you need to jump the blue plug in your case.
