Default Engine cuts off while driving.

My first assumption was the Fuel Pump is going bad.

The car starts fine. It only happens once in a while. Last night coming home from an hour distance, the car 94 LS died on me twice! outside temp was around 60-70s.

I pull off to the shoulder, completely turn off the car.. once, twice, on the third or fourth it starts again.

It's only died on me twice like that in town. And the car always turns on after a couple of "off-crank" tries.

After reading through the archived topics, now I have to consider the Fuel Relay going bad... but most of these cases have issues with starts as mine starts fine.

The car has the original motor with just about 250K on the clock.

Any suggestions?

Pump? or Relay?

thanks guys.

Inspect distributor cap and rotor for wear.

I considered spark components to be at fault, but the way the car dies .. I veered away from it.

While you're on the gas, it just literally cuts off. No stalling of any sort.. Bam, that's it.

Wait..... I do recall, during one or two of those Restarts after it died... It almost turned over, almost like it was flooded...

so... No fuel, or no spark?

dammit.

too many factors here!

Thanks for the reply.

do you have an alarm?
could have to do with your ignition kill switch in the alarm
which is probly spliced into your ignition switch in the steering column

or your distributor

Yes there's an alarm but that's not the case here. Kill switch only works before start, not while the car is running.

Alternator isn't the culprit here, it's just not his style.

Anyone else? There' s got to be someone out there who has diagnosed this before...

*scratches head..
