engine build question
I can't afford to fully rebuild my engine till the summer.. but i wanna put b16 pistons in now for personal reasons. Would it be alright to just take apart the engine, put the pistons with new rings in and put it all back together????
would this last me till the summer, or what problems would i be looking at?
and also if it were to be ok, is there anything else I'd need to do to make it run 100%?

while u are in the engine, you would probably want a hone, and rings... many people will probably say rod bearings, but if urs are low mileage, or u wont be revving crazy high, its not as much of a concern.
how much to hone? i will be putting new rings.
how much for rod bearings? it has high miles (223,xxx) but it runs super strong..
this would just be temporary untill the summer.. then i will do a complete rebuild.
I just wanna know if this will be ok untill the summer..
thanks..
I will also replace the head gasket, timing belt, water pump, and timing belt tensioner.

Just a thought... why not just deal with whatever personal reason you have for wanting B16 pistons now, then build it fully this summer...
thats what i want too..i just want to know will my engine be ok and last me till the summer, and what other things should i get now to make it run 100%.
