Engine Bay Cleaning
Hey, I've read and searched topics for this and I would like to know, specifically what to cover with bags/tape so that I can securly spray down the engine bay. This is my DD so I have to take precautions

If anyone can edit the picture and circle the spots I would need to cover.. that would be exceptionnaly nice

Are you sure you searched and read everything???? Seems like this has been a hot topic in the last few weeks and there are a few threads running around with tons of info to cover up. But here's a list:
1) Dizzy, battery, anything that's electrical
2) Cover up your Intake cone
That's pretty much it... if you don't cover anything up, just don't go haywire on the electrical components of the car and get water up in them

pretty much cover up everything electrical because water and electrcity don't like each other. and cover up your intake filter because your motor doesn't like that either.
when i worked as a detailer at toyota, all we did was cake on engine degreaser, simple green is by far the best thing you can get because you can get it anywhere. and then pressure wash it down with the car running and trying to avoid all electrical and intake.
good luck with it though

alot of people do this with their car warm and running. id always figured thats bad, since if you spray cold water on a hot, aluminum cylinder head, you could crack or warp it.
if it was me doing it to my car, id bag up the intake, disconnect the battery, and hose it all off. then wait for it to dry up before i reconnect the battery.

ive done this 20+ times with my dad on different cars, the battery is fine, nothings gonna happen, cover the dizzy, and then i see you have an air filter so cover that too.
I suggest doing this with a high pressured water for best results, not some water hose.
Thats about it

If you dont have one or know someone with one then go to one of thoes car wash place. after you done washing get an air house and blow out all the water left over.
