Default ELECTRICAL: Please Help!

Hello fellow H-T'ers. I have a 96 gsr, and ever since last week my battery hasn't been charging. I replaced the alternator and it ran fine for 2 days then the same problem. I was out driving last nite then the battery light came on and I started losing voltage. When it happened with the old alternator, it was very abrupt and sudden then the whole car shut down. But this time it was slower, the voltage didn't drop as fast and the car didn't die on me. But my charging system as far as I know is not working. Keep in mind that the alternator is rebuilt and the battery is brand new. Has anyone ever experienced this or know what could be causing it? I read in Chilton's that it could be my voltage regulator or PCM but I don't know where theyre located. If someone could please help me with this problem I would be greatly thankful.

it could be a bad diode that is not converting the AC (alternating current) into DC (direct current) towards the battery, therefore charging the battery

your best bet is to have a load test performed on the charging system in the car.

Doesn't a car work on all DC current?

Check your grounds on the car; alternator, starter, and battery

most of the car does, but the battery directs power towards the starter at start up it also directs power towards the alternator at the same time

the diode only allows voltage to flow in one direction, so it stops the battery voltage heading towards the alternator, so that the alternator only directs the charging power to the battery and does not recieve any battery voltage from the battery
