ECU Reset
Is there a specific procedure to reseting my ecu on my 95 Gs-R after having the motor out, what exactly will it do for me, or not do for me? Please let me know. Thanks.

Warm up your car to normal temp and turn it off, pull out the two fuses for 10 - 30 mins (I did for 30 min just to be sure, plus dragon ball z was on). Put the fuses back, turn on the car, don't hit the gas and let it sit there idel for 10 mins. You can enter the security code for the radio while the engine is running idel. Turn the car off and and you are all set.
Pull the blue 15A ECU fuse, and the Brown 7.5A Back up fuse, wait 15 seconds, plug back in. Don't make it harder than it is. What sucks is you have to reset all your radio pre-sets. Just pulling the ECU fuse won't reset an engine code, if you have one, you gotta take the back up fuse out too. But I'd imagine if you pulled the engine, the first thing you did was disconnect the negitive terminal to the battery?

Yeah, but then you gotta use a 10 mil and take the ground off, you can pull the fuses w/ your fingers. But I would think that he would have taken the battery ground off anyway if he was pulling the motor anyway. You dont' have to have it off for 15 min, under 30 seconds.
nope just normal operating temperature and pull the fuse wait for a while. Then plug it back in and start up the car and just let it idle for like 15-30minutes w/o touching the gas pedal then just shut it off and turn it bakc on and ur all set to go.

Make sure the car has already been warmed up to normal operating temperature and is turned off. Pop the hood and find the fuse box. It will be on the passenger side next to the battery as you can see in the first picture. Remove the lid and pull out both fuses as pictured in the second picture.
Leave the fuses out for about 30 minutes to allow all the old data to be wiped out. Plug the fuses back in. It doesn't matter if you plug them in upside down or whatever they don't have any polarity so just make sure you plug the right fuse in the right place and you're all good. Make sure to replace the fuse box cover as well.
Start up the car and let it idle for about 10 minutes. Don't hit the gas pedal during this time. This time allows your ECU to make new data based on how much air it sees coming into. Use this time to reset your radio stations and clock. After 10 minutes is up, turn the car off.
That's it, you're done. Once you start the car up again, the ECU will have full knowledge of your new modification and will be adjusted accordingly. Have fun!
