Default ECU......for.......Ls........?

Hey guys. Is it time for me to get a new ECU? I plan to get an aftermarket ECU for My 95 ls and I dont know if this is a good idea or not ? and what kind of ECU is good for Ls ?
Since i have a skunk IM , DC header, greddy exhaust, and an Act daily driving and racing clutch on my car and I'm done with all the basic steps.
Thanks

Why do you want a new ECU?

If I were you I'd have yours chipped and do some fuel/ignition tuning with uberdata.

I want a new Ecu cause I dont want to chip my original one unless get another ls ecu and buy the chip let some one install it , but that way it will cost the same as the new one. Will it help anything thought ? I know that you could pass your red line limit alil bit , but is it safe ?

for the mods you have, spending money on another ecu is not worth it.. pick up an SAFC and just tune it with that. What ecu would u get? all other obd1 DOHC ecus are gonna do the same **** once u chip them cuz you have to in order to get it to run right.. then you need to spend the money on tuning..and youll be lucky if you pick up 5 whp from tuning. If i were u i would spend the money on some agressive cams if you want to go the all motor route. then use the SAFC to adjust the a/f ratio accordingly..also some raise the compression while your at it.. 9.2:1 is just too low for all motor, unless you plan on going turbo in the future

what are agressive cams ? how many hosepowrs do I expect after getting the new cams? with this set up am I safe? is it reliable or will any thing happen to the motor in the future? and what kind of cams are good for ls none v-tec? what do you recommend? In the future i'm not gonna turbo it cause i'm looking for something that is goin to last long.
Oh............do I have to change or replace any thing if I want to get some new cams?
Thanks

Cams for B18A/B motors:

CROWER 62402 stage 1 cams -no upgraded valvesprings needed(wouldnt get them, only a few HP gain)
CROWER 62403 stage 2 cams -upgraded valvesprings/retainers recommended. gives about 15 whp gain (i would get these cams. this is what i have)
CROWER 62404 stage 3 cams -upgraded valvesprings/retainers recommended. gives about 20 whp gain (i recommend these as well. u need to tune the idle a bit)

the cams are very safe and reliable. just get a shop to install them for u. u seem like a beginner when it comes to engines, so let the pro's handle the install.

ya i was saying that by getting another honda ECU which will work for you car would be a waste of money really. And chipping it for like hondata or uberdata , with the mods you have its just not worth it. Like i said.. I would pick up a used SAFC for like 100-200 bucks , get some Crower 403 cams because they arent TOO agressive but you will get a little more kick in the *** when you gas it. Crower 403 cams and gears should free up anywhere from 10-15 whp at most. That is the typical gains. You should also get the crower dual springs because the 403 cams have a higher profile and the stock springs only will suffice if you keep the redline stock. But the cams should be used with the springs if you want a more solid reliability. You might also want to get some cam gears for those to make any further adjustments for squeezing out all the potential HP gains from those cams...without cam gears you might get 8-10 whp gain ..with cam gears (tuned) you can probably free up 3-4whp, then with the safc tune your A/F ratio so that it runs and drives smooth as possible.

yes your motor will be reliable with cams. its not like your gonna be demanding **** loads of power out of your motor like a turbo charged motor would. Its not that difficult install but like the guy above said, let a pro do it because, if you dont think you can do it, dont do it. That skunk2 manifold will be a nice compliment to the cams for sure.

since i do a lot of chipping for the h-t community, your one of the many people that I have told:

SAVE YOUR MONEY! Its not worth doing a chipped at this time since your mods are still very basic. Wait until you boost your compression up, get some agressive cams, head work, etc...and then start looking into a propper ecu/tuning software
