Either do that, or unplug your ECU, and let it sit for a few minutes. It's much easier to just pull the ECU fuse under the hood though.

to reset the ecu, you can either pull off the negative terminal of your battery for 5-10 minutes or pull the ecu fuse like somebody has already mentioned

That's another way, but I didn't mention it, because a lot of people have to put in a code to get their radio to work again. Most people don't know it, and have to go to the dealer.

What these guys have said. Any will work.
Do you have a check engine light? Over on the right side of the dash near where the ECU is theres a little green plug. You just need to bridge the two wires with a jumper and that will show you the code through the check engine light.
