Dyno numbers inside...is something wrong????
Ok, i have a 99 GSR with the mods listed in my signature. I don't have the chart to post yet because it isn't scanned in...but the car made the following numbers:
157whp and
118ft-lbs of torque
is this normal for the mods i have???
i was expecting a little more...let me know what you think and i will post the chart as soon as i get it scanned. Also, do you think it will benefit me to get a V-AFC, i am planning on getting a ctr intake cam in the near future.

My car made those exact numbers with an AEM CAI. 2000 GSR.
Still aren't bad numbers though for just bolt-ons.
What numbers were you expecting to get?

yeah im kinda thinking somehting is going on...maybe it's just me though. I was just expecting more with everything i had, because that whp only equates to like 184 at the crank, and only 14 hp out off all the stuff i have done doesn't impress me that much.
Thats about right for the mods. You aren't going to pick up that much power off bolt ons unless you get some high quality stuff = high dollar. Plus it doesn't look like you have any type of fuel controller, chances are, you are running pretty rich from a modified ecu on a basically stock motor.
I would expect a little more then that. Most gsrs get about 150whp with bolt-ons though, so its not like youre that far off. Add in the fact that with different dynos will give you different #s(actually turbo or somebody did a article and they got up to a 30whp difference on a 350Z).
Edit: One more thing...get a JDM DC header...i know that you probably dont want to part with the DC that you paid pretty good money for, but it really is crap(and yes I owned one...paid like $350 for that bitch too).

You really don't have that many bolt-ons so id say your right around the norm. Yes, you could make more power but the mods you chose were top of the line
I suggest getting a different header and get a hi flow cat like stated above. Also, i am not sure if that ecu is doing you any good. you may want to just get a obd1 ecu and chip it at the dyno. A vafc would definately help you, you can't tune the car unless you have some sort of engine management.
Your not that bad man, just make a few different changes and you'll be all set.

my friends setup
97 GSR engine
skunk 2 IM
DC 4-2 JDM header
2.5" crimp bent (incl. cat)
short ram
P30 w/ skunk 2 program
160HP/ 125TQ
so i'd say you are round that pretty good numbers, get it tuned with vafc and a wideband

With my set-up listed in my sig, I dynoed @ 172 129. Tuning with my v-afc gave me 16 more hp @ the wheels, so I'd say it's definitely worth it.

what kind of dyno did you dyno on? mustang dyno? dyno jet? those numbers seems a little low.. but not terrible. ive seen a few stock gsr's put down 148-152. and with AEM ive seen 155-157. you using the stock cat? maybe its clogged..

if you get the ctr intake cam and a skunk2 IM......you should be somewhere around 167+, what i got.....i have basically the same mods you do...EXCEPT the ignition and i have a skunk2 IM/ctr intake cam/and my chipped p28 ecu.......a vafc will help you tune out your comptech ecu to your motor....so it will help!
