Default Dyno

Im preparing to dyno my b18c1 next week.

My current mods are:

AEM SRI
APexi N1 Cat-back
V-AFC2
*** Installing this week***
DC JDM ITR 4-1
Car sound 2.5 high-flow

I have dynoed the car before with just the AEM ARI and Apex N1 and put down like 160whp so basically this dyno is going to be to tune the VAFC with the new and old mods.

I know it may be to early to invest in injectors since i dont have any internals, but do you all think i should invest in a FPR and Gauge before the dyno?. Im hoping to possibly see anything near or 170whp.

I dont think an FPR is needed for a mildly modded NA setup. A guage is always nice to have though. I mean if the money is just buring in your pocket hook it up

i bought one cuz i thought i needed it. imo, you dont need one for quite a bit... up to about 185whp(just a general figure) then you should look into fpr or bigger injectors.

A FPR is a great tuning tool. In my oppinion I think you should get one. You can use the AFC to get a nice flat line or the air/fuel ratio and then use the FPR to go richer or leaner across the band. That way you can see where you make more power, ie. 14:1 a/f 13.5:1 a/f 13:1 a/f etc. Some engines like it richer and some like it leaner. There are so many variables sp. that you can play with. Good luck. 98ctr.

PS: and for $100 its worth geting it cuz you will need it from now on anyway.

i can get the FPR and Gauge for $88 bucks shipped, and dynoing only cost 60 bucks for 3 to 4 pulls.

ITR cams are your next option! i'm sure w/ the set up right now and w/ the vafc, you can get at least 165+

last year when i dynoed w/ aem sri, skunk2 IM, ctr intake cam, skunk2 cam gears, dc 4-2-1, test pipe, and greddy sp...using the stock ecu...i only got 160whp and 119 lb's of torque..plugged in my custom all motor chipped p28 ecu, and got 167 whp and 132 lb's of torque!!!! So its possible to be in the 160 w/ just a good flowing i/h/cat/e....
