Default Dropping a battery? Bad? --HELP

I've searched H-T, T-I and CI and nothing. I was charging my battery and all of a sudden, it decided to take a 3ft leap and landed on the floor sideways. Can this be bad?

I just replaced my alternator (due to power issues) with a new one from Autozone. I started my car and the battery light still comes on. WT? I even tried the "pull the negative off" altnerator test as well and the car dies instantly. The green plug is in tight, the 'wire-unto-nut' (ground? power?) broke off while I took off the other one due to corrosion so I had to fabricate a new one, but it is also on tight.

Help? Suggestions?

car: 98 GSR.

man, you expletiveed up huh? i'm not sure if that would hurt your battery or not, take it back and see if they will exchange it. as for the alternator, take it back to get that "test" done on it.

I don't know what it is. I wouldn't say I expletiveed it up, but I guess I could have been more careful when placing the battery on an even plaine. and NOT a tipped over bucket on a pile of ****. haha. <--yeah, it was fault.

dropping the battery is not good... check to make sure you are not leaking acid

double check all your connections at the alternator, specifically the ground, to make sure they are snug

within these last few days, i've recieved contradicting information. The wire that is BOLTED unto the alternator, is that the ground or the power? If its the power, where is the ground? The green plug is in 'snug' so is the bolted wire but I'll recheck once I get off work.

the only connections I have at the alternator is the green plug and the bolted wire on top of the alternator.
