door question...

Default door question...

ok when you take off the door panel theres this plastic sheet on the door. my passenger door is missing that plastic sheet. wats its purpose and if its alright to not have one or do i have to buy a new one.

as weird as it might sound...i think it might act kind of like a resonator panel that works inside the door in conjunction with the door speaker. one side of the one in my passenger side door came undone and the speaker on that side sounded a lot worse. might just have been my ears playing tricks on me...but i patched it back up duct tape style and now it sounds great.

After i got my car back after it was stolen, it was missing the plastic piece also on the passenger side. I never replaced it and my speakers and everything else worked fine. No moisture build up or water was inside. Been driving like that for about a year and a half now.

I would not sweat it... but yea, its a moisture barrier.
