Does rim size affect ride height?
I currently have 17's on my teg. I have KYB and Neuspeed sport springs along with the WW type II kit. The ride is horrible. I can't get up drive ways without scraping the bottom. I recently got 95 GSR rims. My question is, if I go from 17's to 15's will it make my car even lower? Do you think I'll feel the difference is acceleration also?
depends on what size tires..........17's with 205/40/r17 are a tiny bit taller than the 15's with stock 195/55/r15.......might be the same if you get 205/50/r15 and yes you should notice a big difference in ride quality......since low pro tires sidewalls are a lot stiffer than thicker wall tires......and you will feel a difference in acceleration
a larger tire will put you higher up...try this out: http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html
yea true, when i had my stock LS wheels with H&R race springs, my car was very low. then i put 17x7.5 wheels with 205/40-17 and the car was not as low at all. i compared the two wheels side by side and the tires i got, potenza RE730's were a bit taller so my car is not that low anymore. you can tell its lowered from no wheel well gap but from the ground its not that low.
