Does anyone know the steps in removing the dash?
i want to swap my tan colored dash into a black one, just wondering the steps in removing the dash.. is it pretty straight forward? help would be greatly appreciated
first, take off the arm rest, along with the shift boot cover and your radio. remove your speedometer, glove compartment, clock, and the cover plates on the side of the dash. there should be a total of 4 bolts for the dash, one behind the clock, one on each side of the dash, and one below under the radio. a small screw driver is needed for the screw below the glove box. you dont have to remove the steering wheel. your dash can be remove now, just unplug some of the harnesses that are attach to the dash.
try not to get frustrated....it will getto you..its always a bolt holdin somethin that you cant find......And when you remove the dash, do not touch the winshield! When the support of the dash is gone, for some reason the windshield becomes very easy to crack...know from experience
Any more details or tips?I've had a black dash waiting to go in for about 6 months but havent had the ***** to try it.Any pics or more details?
