Hey, i got a 1993 Integra and today i found a problem that just got worst from time, the distrubotor makes a really annoying and loud grinding and cracking noise while the car is on/idling or driving i was wondering can this just be spark plug wires ? or a fixable problem on the dizzy ? or just need a new distrubutor ?

 

It kind of sounds like the rotor screw came off inside. Take the cap off and check to see whats going on inside.

Basically follow the steps to remove the cap and to see if the rotor screw is flying around inside.

i opened it it wasnt flying anywhere inside.... unless if i have to take the steel plated cap off too.

 

Try a new distributor.

 

If it isn't the rotor, then it is probably the shaft bearing in the distributor, but usually you will see excessive wear on the rotor and cap terminals.

 

Yeah check the shaft bearing. Is there any rust build up on it or any play?
