Default distibutor help!!!!

ok so i have a 2000 integra gsr with an obd2 gsr engine harness. i have a obd2 gsr distributor and my rpms work fine but im throwing a code 9 cyp. so i tried my friends ls with the ear cut off the code goes away and the car runs fine but after 5000 rpm my rpm go to zero on my gauge but my car keeps going. then i tried my other friends b16 dizzy but rpms dont show on the gauge at all. tried a few good dizzy all the same. why does the rpms read fine with the gsr and not ls and b16? pls help with any info.

So you are trying a different dizzy from a OBD2B harness? or just from a OBD2A, it is a little different on the igniter and it will give you the issue with the revs in the cluster, happened to me.

You can try to get the CYP sensor from another dizzy or you have to buy a new dizzy and move your igniter to the new one.

so your telling me that the dizzy are different from obd2a to obd2b. i thought they were the same thing. cuz when you got to buy them there the same part number for b16 and gsr. they go from 96-01 integra, and same as the civics? i checked the plugs on the ls and the gsr and the harness plugs are the same. i dont know what else to try. ive tried new clust and ecu. also if the cluster rpms dont read will that cause vtec to not open?
