direction to pull a b18b
Some one told me that some step by step directions to pull a b18b out of an integra are floating around on this site or the web. Anyone have a link to where it is located. I own a manual already I jsut want another helper.
I personally use a forklift whenever possible. You can raise a pallet up to the oil pan, unbolt the damn thing, lower down and drive away. Either way you do it, it's easiest with two people working together, on doing everything up top, and one doing everything down below. I have a pretty set order I follow when pulling motors:
Disconnect Radiator Hoses
Remove Radiator
Disconnect Wiring Harness
Disconnect Fuel/Vacuum lines
If AC Equipped, then remove AC and PS belt, then unbolt the compressor and remove the bracket
If not AC equipped, then just remove the bracket
Unbolt lower tranny mount bracket
Remove axles
Disconnect shift linkage
Unbolt rear mount bracket
Secure Engine (pallet, cherry picker, other)
Remove upper tranny mount
Move engine to facilitate removal of previously unbolted rear mount bracket
Remove upper engine mount and carefully raise/lower the motor from the car

Not a bad idea.... but I am willing to bet there are very few people on H-T who have access to a fork lift.

Its actually easier dropping it through the bottom.
Disconnect the brake booster hose, heater core hoses, throttle cable, etc.
Take the bolt off of the axels, disconnect the nuckle-n-hubs from underneath the rotor. Pull them back to slide axels through.
Take the back motor mount off, then front side tranny, and then the one with the ac bracket. Should be 2 mounts left.
Place a jack under the header or oil pan(on the oil pan put a block of wood to prevent crackin), support the motor and take the other 2 mounts off.
Slowly let the jack down and tip the tranny down, get it to rest on the ground.
Jack the car up and slide the motor out.
