I think a better question would be the difference between the two versons of the B18A1, 90'-91' & 92'-93'? The later verson has 140HP while the B18B1 has 141HP. So I've been told.

you answered your own question. "pretty much" = operative words

they added a solid 6 more lb/ft of tq... which changes the whole thing. c'mon, we have hondas.

my little doll-size hand wrenching makes more torque than the car the bolts are on...

94-00 Ls / Rs
Gs B18B1 3G - DC 1834 9.2 : 1 142 @
6300 rpm 127 lb/ft @
5200 rpm USA

90-91 ALL B18A1 2G - DA 1834 9.2 : 1 130 @
6000 rpm 121 lb/ft @
5000 rpm USA

92-93 all but GS-R B18A1 2G - DA 1834 9.2 : 1 140 @
6300 rpm 121 lb/ft @
5200 rpm USA

one the cams in the 94 up are a little bigger (exhaust) ,94 up intake manifold are more smoother, other than that its the same

that is why i use the 94up cams/im/tb on my 93 b18a

The cam lobes on the B18B on the exhaust cam have a .2" larger cam lobe height, along with the freerer flowing IM. The 10hp difference between the90-91 to 92-93 B18A's I think has to do with the switch from OBD-0 to OBD-1, probably better fuel management and things.

Also, the OBD0 B18A1 has a 4-1 exhaust manifold where as the OBD1 has a 4-2-1.

What is the code for the head of a B18B1? And if I buy one that is complete would I still want to use my 4-1 exhaust manifold?
