Default Differential Case cracked

96 LS Integra Manual transmission

My differential cracked at the drain bolt location. Part of the drain bolt hole broke apart from the case. Now i have a heavy leak from that area. What are my options? I tried to search for a local welder but couldn't find anyone that specializes in aluminum.

So what are my options? Is there replacements just for the differential case? How much work and money would it cost me? etc etc. Need input asap.!

Is the differential housing apart of the transmission?

Would swapping out the entire tranny be an option?

differential is what put ur power to the wheel say it between tranny and the axel connection. However differential prices are costly, i would try to find a stock differential to replace it with rather then performance at ur point.

i understand it's role. The internals of the differential are fine and intact. It's the actual outter casing/housing of the differential that has a crack.

I know those performance differentials don't come w/ a housing. As far as i could tell from pictures it looks like the manual tranny and differential share the same housing. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Would I be able to separate the differential (case and all) from the manual transmission case and just replace the differential alone?

lol same **** with my DA.. differential is cracked from front to back.. water got inside so theres rust in the gears oh well. If you thinking about getting a new one, few hundred more would get you an LSD . If not junkyards prolly have one for cheap. Im not a mechanic so i cant tell u how much it is for labor. Any suggestions? Id appreciate it also
