Icon6 DC2 ls vtec conversion

Looking for some opinions and tips, i have a 99 dc2 ls that i have a b16 vtec head for, i want to do type R pistons and cams and go threw the tranny and change gears3/4&5 to b16, convert to lsd and all that, i have an obd2 jdm type R ECU as well, i do not want to have to do a lot of tuning if i don't have to, just trying to build a fun fast car to run around in. any suggestions?

I would keep the Ls 5th gear for fwy purposes and change 1-4 to b16
My gsr trans, on the fwy it was fun but engine was under a lot of pressure, at 75 mph 5th gear was like at 4-4500 rpm

just get a gsr trans if you're asking this I doubt you know how to pull gears and swap them over. What you're describing with the gears is basically a gsr trans. as for the engine if you're going to swap pistons why not go 12:5:1 and throw some pro 1's in ?

^yes. It would be easier to source a gsr trans and just have someone who knows what theyre doing swap fifth gears

Well im not going to go in to my credentials for a troll like you, but ive been doing this **** for a long time, i do it for a living, the post was for guys that actually know what they are doing and have good advice on engine/trans/ gearing combinations, if i wanted to take the easy way out i would just go buy some **** and bolt it together and act like i did something "bswap" but i know my way around a trans especially something as simple as an s80 and im going to build something better than just another gsr swap, thanks for your first poast JDM thats the kind of advice i was looking for..

lol a ys1 is a b16 trans an s80 is a integra(b18) one, anyone can go onto Wikipedia and sound smart. Saying I don't know **** is laughable when you're asking and the question along with the fact that what you were proposing with the gears IS a gsr trans in essence, also if you were smart you'd know the ys1 came with an lsd thus no need to convert your s80. And why not do 12:5:1 and aftermarket cams ? guess my tack car shows I know nothing 2316 curb weight that's including the cage and areo, 85mm b20 247/163.
