damn cable clutch problem!
Well I've had my CM stage I installed for 800kms/ 500miles.... just broken in. I love the clutch, Its been functioning perfect and no problems so far.
Yesterday I stopped the car and put in the clutch and heard a ' snapping sorta clicking noise. '
I right away thought uh-oh there goes the clutch cable. I pressed it in and out a few more times to see if it made the noise again and whadda know the clutch sunk right to the floor with no force applied. frick!
I am thinking that the cable snapped or came loose or something, no big deal. I pop the hood and check out the cable/adjuster.. everything looks ok as far as I can see... You can move the 'shift fork' by hand and when you pull the cable the pedel still moves, so it must not be the cable right? or could it still be busted internally somehow?? What could be causing this?? Could it be the shift fork is busted in some way, or possibly the relase bearing in the tranny? Damn I am getting so frustrated with my teg. If I have to drop my tranny again I'm going to be pissed. That will make 3 times in the last month.
please help.
thanks. chris

Its a throw-out fork, not a shift fork. The shift forks are inside the transmission case.
Are you sure the cable didn't get disconnected from the pedal? Or the brackets messed up at the other end? Otherwise, I don't have a cable clutch so I can't help but here'a a bump...
