DA shock problems

DA shock problems
wow. it figures all this **** happens on my birthday 
ok, to start off, this morning my car wouldnt start. after letting it sit for about 2 hours it started and ran just fine. then, when i got home, i popped the hood to see why i smelled gas. i forgot to put the washer back on the small bolt on top of the fuel filter 
so after i quickly fix that, i drop the hood...but it doesnt latch, or even come all the way down! so i pick it up, look around, and my right front shock is sticking out about 3 inches higher than its supposed to!!!! wtf? i couldnt believe it! it must have happened while the hood was popped? otherwise i wouldve heard the hood hit it and seen the dent in the hood.
the car is riding on skunk2 springs and tokico blue struts. i did it 2 weeks ago on labor day, and now all of a sudden this happens
im about to go to my aunts house to have dinner celebrating perhaps the worst birthday i have ever had

thanks. im stuck here waiting for my dad to come help me out, ive got the shock almost all the way out, cant see why it would do this.
