DA OBD-1 conversion
Im looking to swap a b16a2 into a DA i have searches around the forums and i can use my non OBD wire harness with minor modifications but since im doing the swap i'll just try the OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion. Has anyone have any experience doing this? how much will this cost me? what are the necessary components needed for the full OBD-1 conversion.
I just did my obd-1 conversion on my DA...
It cost me a lot...here is a parts and price list for what I bought
Locash racing ecu adapter...$169
Locash racing distributor adapter...$25
Locash racing obd-1 subharness...$65
Locash racing obd 1 custom programmed ECU...$275
Remanned obd-1 distributor for a b16...$222
Bosch obd-1 4 wire o2 sensor for a 94 del sol b16...$170
I bought all my stuff from locashracing.com...but the day after I did the conversion, I heard of rywire.com...I could have saved a lot of money by getting there stuff. But it was too late to turn back, and locash's stuff was of great quality and very easy.
I am using stock obd-0 injectors and resistor box.
It took me about an hour to plug everything up, and make 7 splices.
All you have to splice are the wires for the VTEC solenoid and pressure switch, the knock sensor wire, and the four wires for the o2 sensor. Don't worry, you won't have wires hanging all over the engine compartment...that's what the obd-1 subharness is for. You just plug in all your ****, then run the harness throught the firewall, and all your splices are hidden under the carpet, next to the ECU.
It was definitely worth all the money and effort. My car has never run quite right since I swapped the motor. It hesitated, and idled wierd. But now it runs it's *** off.
good luck
