Default DA is howling!?

This happens when I first start the car and the morning or after work. When I slightly turn the steering wheel, I hear somewhere in the engine a mid high pitched howling sound. It sounds for about 3 seconds then goes away for good. The best way I can describe the noise, is like a small dog crying.

I checked my power steering reservoir and thats topped off. Any of you G2 owners ever get this? What could be the problem?

Don't think so. It still makes sounds before and after I removed all the belts when I did my timing belt.

Maybe you have a small dog stuck i there! lol! I remeber when I worked at Jiffy Lube this lady had a cat stuck behind her engine. It was crazy cause the body was frozen stiff and all it could do was move it's head!

I dont know what it could be since you replaced the belts. But I can tell you how to temprarily fix it. While the motor is running... spray some wet tire shine on the belts. Just one good spray for each and it will be gone instantly! I've done it several times on several cars.

Your pump may be going bad... they usually start to make a whinning noise and eventually it will get louder and longer.I ditched my power steering so i dont have that problem!

You said it was making the noise even after you removed all the belts. How can a power steering pump make noise if a belt isn't spinning the pulley?
