Are Da and Ef Cat the same?
Made a post in the 88-91 forum but no one answered. I got a 91 ef hatch with b swap LS. Was told I can pass CA bar with my stock 91 civic cat instead of having to buy a DA cat, anyone knows if that’s true?

No. You need a cat from a 91 integra LS with the proper carb EO number stamped onto it. Pro-tip, just go to a muffler shop and tell them that and have them weld in a new one.
Referee will look for and run the number to make sure it's correct for the motor swap.

I didn't know they had a carb EO number stamp any pics of these on the stock cats? I never seen one or heard of them checking the cat stamp during a BAR reff.. on a aftermarket cat yes I seen the stamps but on a stock cat?...

For Aftermarket cats, yes.
Unless you’re buying a new OEM cat you’re buying an aftermarket.
With the swap, the cat needs to be carb compliant for an integra. His is likely a carb legal cat (by this age of the car, the cat has likely been replaced) for a conviction. It may have the same number, but OP should do his due diligence and make sure he has his ducks in a row.

I was under the impression he wanted to use a OEM cat from one car on another car so i was implying he should get it fabricated at a shop and he would still have a OEM cat on the car that should work just fine its deff better than a aftermarket cat in my opinion. But i could be dead wrong..

Re: Are Da and Ef Cat the same?
Thank you all for the replies. I found someone local who is selling a oem Ed/ef catalytic converter and since you guys said the OE number doesn’t exist on stock ones I’m going to pick it up and hopefully it’s still in good condition.
