Default Corbeau set install tips...

I bought a Corbeau Targa RS last year and finally decided to put it in the Teg. I had the bracket from the 97 Civic I had it in before it was totalled.

Anyway the brackets you buy with the seats are way too tall and make you feel like you're driving a truck. The problem is the Corbeau has much narrower rails than the stock seats and the brackets must be attached to the slider mechanism, which makes it even taller. From the bottom of the seat rail attaching points to the top of the sliders is about 2 inches. Combined with the thicker cushion of the Corbeau, you sit almost 5 inches higher than normal.

I decided I wanted the seat to sit down approx where the stock seat was, which means I had to determine a new way to mount the seat. I decided to use the stock seat rails and make them fit the Corbeau. I still need to finalize the way I'm going to do it, but it doesn't look too tough. I will need to take the stock seat adjuster slider and cut off the vertical pieces that bolt to the side of the stock seat. This will allow me to bolt the stock adjuster mechanism to the bottom of the Corbau with just an intermediate bracket.

If anyone was considering the Corbeaus, this might save them the cost of the brackets, usually about $85. If you want me to make the intermediate brackets for you let me know.
