cooling problem
okay heres my problem i have 92 DA integra with ls/vtec-- just to point out not just a cheap ls/vtec its done rite-- any who.. my problem is this my car is always at like 150-160 F but when i drive slow it will sometimes go to like 190 F witch is okay i think ... but if i step on it the temp. will go down to about 110-130F , that the car check and , mechanic said everything is okay . no problems that maybe , i need a new radiator , please any comments and help would work
Bleed the system, you may have air in there. If that doesn't work, get a new radiator.
Also, it's spelled "right", not "rite". There's many occasions I don't respond to people's posts because they either have horrible grammar or can't spell.

Get an Aluminum Radiator, Like PWR or C&R, Fluidyne.. The reason why your temp is going down when you step on it is the ram air.. (Well, that was a dumbass statement, but I'm just clarifying).

ram air what the f&% ..... you talking about

I think he means that when you speed up, more air is pushed thru the radiator and cools down the fluid.
when you say you "step on it" how fast are you going? are you just talking about a quick romp or do you mean when you are going like 40+mph? the reason I ask is that when going slow, the fans keep air moving through the radiator, but when you get going faster, more air is moving due to your speed than the fans would pull. I would make sure your fans are coming on when they are supposed to.
as for you mechanic saying "maybe you need a new radiator", I say take it to a radiator shop. I spent a bunch of money hunting down an overheating problem on my Mustang and finally broke down and took it to the right place. they popped the tanks off and saw the problem and fixed it. in the end I spent less time/money having them rebuild it than I did replacing the wrong parts. a regular mechanic won't always look at the cooling system the way a radiator/cooling specialist will.
