Is the sensor in the same place as the GSR (pictured)?

Is it normal for it to go out? (not a lot of threads found in the "search" field)

Might it be the gauge?

 

yes its the same. whether its normal or not yours obviously isnt working. it probably is not the gauge. its a simple fix just unplug and plug in one that is working, see if that works.
