Default coolant leaking ....

so the coolant keeps on leaking ... and it looks like it is coming out from the top of the valve cover or something.

also when i changed my rims, and i jacked one side on the car all i hear is water leaking out from the engine.

i am assuming it's the water pump??

if so, how much would it cause me to change it and what other things do i need to replace while i'm at it ...

thanks for the help.

possibly the heater hoses. mine just went out and i thought it was a cracked block at first. the coolant was leaking down the backside of the block and near the gaskets. but, it could be a thermostat problem, water pump, etc.

to have all the hoses changed, it was about 300 bucks at the dealership. parts are cheap, labor was 2-3 hours. it worked out well because i was going to need a coolant flush this year. but, now i got new coolant in.

Are you hearing anything unusual from the engine bay when the car is running? Usually you can tell when a water pump starts to go. Approximately 2 months
ago I began leaking coolant around the firewall area. After draining the coolant
system and doing a pressure test I could hear a hissing sound around the manifold
area. I found out one of the heater hoses has a pin hole leak in it. Just with that
small leak, I found myself filling the resevoir 2-3 times a day and almost overheated at an intersection once..not fun. If it's the water pump, you might as well get the timing belt changed as well, if it hasn't been done in awhile.

thanx for the input ...

price for a new water pump is $50 and me and my friend will install it ... i replaced my timing belt already but not the pump (should of) so i learn my lesson ...

i have to look again where exactly it is leaking, but most likely it is the pump ...

Look at this post: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=763078

When the bearings on the water pump start to fail, it will leak from there. It's normal and designed that way. How many miles do you have on your car?

Is it leaking from there on your car? That's on the bottom of the block near the oil pan, as you can see. But you said "On top of the valve cover" which is weird. There is no coolant running anywhere near that area.

Here are the pics if you're lazy. They're big:

it seems to be the water pump it looks like you need drive belt too and t /belt if you have that much miles.

Yes, that was already established.

BTW, what the heck is a "drive belt?"
