Console switch installation
Greetings.
I want to wire some switches into the console of my 2000 LS. I've searched and found this ancient thread with dead pics and this other, similar thread with dead pics but no one has addressed my concerns.
How do I get the 4 little plastic things out to install the switches? I bought my car with the stick-on CF accents all over the interior, there are pieces over the console and cutouts that match up on top of the 4 squares.
I'm gonna have to take out the console to run wires regardless, but I was wondering if I could examine these pieces to help decide on what switches to buy. Do I have to take out the console to get these covers out? Other threads recommend Home Depot for some decent switches.
Also, do I have to drill these pieces to install the switch or is there a way to save these guys incase I want to ever remove the switches.
Has anyone converted these 4 squares to on/off push buttons so they're almost invisible switches?
I'm going to do the antenna switch first to start easy. Never wired a car, only guitars.

Okay, your talking about the four square panels on by the e-brake. Yeah you take a small tip screw driver to get it out. Then take your switch measure the diameter of the switch and make the size of that switch just a little smaller. Then take your wires and thread them inside of the console. Then where the consloe stops thread them up and over to the fuse panel. Find a power supply there and put like a 15amp fuse in it.

As far as getting them out... your response =
You can simply just stick your finger under the black flexible rubber piece surrounding the e-brake handle... press on the knock-out panel of your choice & it literally pops out in .5 a second. This way you dont bend or damage them or your center console with a screw driver. Easy as pie.

Nice. Does anyone have pictures of their switches in this location? The threads I linked to earlier all have dead pics. I'm currently shopping for some switches and would love the visuals.
