Default computer/battery help quick topic

1995 integra RS obd1

So my car has been sitting for a year, the batery is dead completely it was before the sitting, so now its just done completely,

i had the computer out of the car and switched it to a new case because somebody stole my computer CASE but left the motherboard, long story.... dont ask LOL.

anyway i just plugged the computer in and tried to start the car but with the battery being dead, i tried putting a booster box on it, but still no start, the lights came on in the cabin and the headlights n cluster lights etc etc all showed up n came on and everything seems working fine, so i take it the computer is working right?

i just need to buy a new battery?

keep in mind the battery light on the cluster was on too.

I am just wondering if the computer is working and its just the battery or if the computer is toast too.

I think because the lights and everything works im thinking the computer is still good? can someone verify this?

Unless you can get the car started, you will not know if the ECU/ECM is any good.

Just because things "light up" is not an indication if the ECU/ECM is good or not.

Need more info...

MM&Y of car?

When you say engine will not start, does that mean engine turns over, [cranks] but will not start or does it mean engine will not even turn over?

What do you mean by "booster box"? 94

booster box was one of those charged box's that has negative/power cables to hook to your battery to give it juice.

1995 integra RS obd1

well i just tried to turn the key and i heard like click click click like the starter was trying to crank but the battery being dead i guess it wouldnt let it hmm.

how do i go about getting a new computer if this one is toast? and how do i tell if this one is toast?

Get a good charge witht he battery before trying to start the car again. Might even take battery out of car to charge correctly. Improper charging could fry your puter, so be careful.

Get another vehicle to jumpstart. FAST EASY CHEAP. Unless that booster is fully charged, it wont have enough juice to start your car.

What year and model is your car? That should have been in your 1st post to make diagnosis easier and for faster results. There are tons of people selling ECU's here in the marketplace for under $150

Get the new batt. and install it and try and start the car, a dead or bad batt. will not work and if your "boost box" can't supply enough current or it is connected to a defective batt., it will not start the car, clicking from starter is an indication of not enough current.

There is no point in worrying about the ECU/ECM until you can confirm it is bad, and until you can crank the engine you have no way of knowing, unless you know someone with an Integra that will let you plug your ECU/ECM into his/her car and see if it works. 94
