Default comptech header question

I looked everywhere and I could not find an answer or proof. Does the Comptech header have a 2 inch collector, if so. Why is it 2 inch versus all the other aftermarket headers that are 2.25- 2.50. Is the comptech 4-2-1 header a good buy for a all motor gsr. Thanks for the info.

i just put the comptech on my car, i had a set of dc sports, but with the comptech i sure can feel the difference. Especially with the mid and upper rpm, i am all motor and plan to stay that way, with this car . i loved the quaility, and am generally very happy with them. i don't know how big the collector is, i didn't measure. i'd buy them again in a second. hope that helps.

I love my Comptech header. It's a nice looking piece and I have only heard good things about Comptech equipment.(plus it doesn't void Honda/Acura warranties!)
I'm not going to do much more to my car except add an exhaust (which will be Comptech!) and Type-R rear sway bar...so as far as it being a good piece for an all-motor setup, I can't really answer that. But I do know that for what I plan to do with my car, its perfect! Hope this helps.
BTW...the collector is 2.25"

Last time I checked. Nothing VOIDS your warrenty. only if the problem is cause by the part.

Yeah...but if you go into the shop with a JR Supercharger on your 2001 GSR complaining that its not running right, they're going to say it was caused by the SC...no matter what is actually causing the issue! So IMO, a Sc would, in a sense, void your warranty!
That's all I was trying to say.
Also...Comptech parts do not void warranties. Some other maker's parts might though.

Did you go for the Mig or Tig welded header?

Thanks a lot guys. I wrote Comptech yesturday and they said that their techs did a lot of research and tests and they found the 2 inch collector to work best for mid range power and that soon they will have a race only header with a 2 1/2 collector comming out in a couple months.

I am about to put on the comptech 4-2-1 header with factory b pipe but my thermal axel back exhaust...Am I still going to gain a good amount of horsepower even though the collector for the header is 2.0 inches, then the factory cat, b pipe, and thermal axel exhaust are 2.25 inches? Thanks!

The comptech header is proven for great midrange results. The vortec supercharger was using the comptech header when testing it and it put out mad power. And yes it has only a 2 inch collector which was proven by the comptech techs to put out the most midrange power.

the burden of proof lies on their shoulders. and anyone who encounters a problem like above can say that to the service manager at any dealer, acura or otherwise. if someone extends you a contract, they have to show due process to fulfilling that contract, not just half *** their way.

if something like that does happen, take it to an independant shop, get the problem fixed, sue the dealer, for whatever the cost of the repair was, plus whatever the implied cost of waranty was.

Yea and 1 note is,the header was tested on a typeR in the great header test, and not only did it have great mid range,it had almost the identical HP at high end as all the big dog 4-1's with 2.5 collectors so they did somthing right when they made this header.Thats what sold me on it,because I couldn't decide which header I wanted.Plus it doesn't sit real low so you don't have to worry about scraping.
