Default compression test, think I Am doing it wrong

1st time I got 160 155 160 170
2nd time I got 180 150 and I didn't bother with the last two.

How come they're different? I read the tutorial from c-speedracing.com but they're not clear on how long should each crank last

also I hear this weird screeching sound, hope that's normal

those are close to my results too... I got 185, 180, 155, and 160 or something like that. Perhaps a bad gauge? Go down to Autozone and borrow one, or if you want I can drop by and test it out with mine since I'm only 10mi or so away. You should crank about 5-7 times, WOT, remove ECU fuse. I think that's it.

Just let it keep cranking until the reedle on the gauge stops going any further

I used 5 crank as a standard, but the 2nd clinder will go further if I crank it more. So I should crank until the needle will not move any further? someone confirm this

Yes, crank until it stops moving. It shouldn't require cranking on it for more then 5-10 seconds. Make sure you are constantly cranking, DO NOT crank 1 time, stop then crank agian.

the car has been resting for maybe about 20 min, it's still pretty hot but I'll do it again tommorow. I forgot to step on the gas peddle too

it's a good thing according to the test. Are there other things I can check or do to make sure the motor is in top notch spec?

Do you need to zero out your cam gears before doing a compression test?

no. Well you can but it wont matter since you're gonna spin the engine around anyways - just looking for a max reading.

I cranked each cylinder 3 times. each time I wait until I hear 10 cycle (maybe about 5 seconds) until I turn it off. Overkill? Will this cause inaccurate numbers?
