Compression test results
My compression came up as 189-182-172-169. Also why do you have to have the engine at full throttle when you do the test? I did the test twice and got the same results with and without the throttle open. Anyways are these good numbers? I know they are with in spec but im just curious what people normally get. BTW this is on an ls motor.

that's not definitely the best. the motor has been worn as you can see. i've come to see that usually the 3rd is a bit lower than the others because it gets the hottest.
my comp test on my gsr was 235 straight across 1psi difference on one or two.
my comp test on my ls ek was 200 straight across.
both motors are 2000 model

Think I should just go ahead and do a motor swap? It will just be an jdm ls. Also why does the throttle have to be held open while performing the test?

just do a lsvtec for fun. lol u can do a jdm ls if u want less hassle though. just move things from your current motor over the the jdm one. you'll have to interchange some things like fuel rail, distributor, etc.
i don't know why you gotta hold it down at WOT. maybe to increase pressure?
