my friend has a compression tester and since im burning oil we're gonna check it out tomorrow.

what should the numbers be across the board on my 94 Integra GSR motor?

also does anyone know the fomula to calculate static compressoin according to the psi reading on the gauge?

depends.. but post the readings.. make sure car is warm.

stock i think is around 220??

all numbers should be within 20 of each other.. reguardless of the numbers you get..


edit.. :: unless you get like 50 in each one.. LOL

i have 190 roughly in mine, but also have lower compression pistons...

dont worry about calculations.. just check it, post the numbers...

slightly lower numbers indicate worn rings, large drops indicate something more.. like pistons or rings are gone.. etc..

 

a large drop could also be a bent valve, but you would probably know that by the way the car idles.

 

or a really loud. metal to metal noise. mine has a bent valve my first cylinder was about 60 points lower than all ther other one's.
