Default Compression Test.......

So, I'm buying my teg tomorrow, I'm going to do a compression test because the motor has 125k on it, how picky should I be with the numbers?

What would be average for a motor with 125,000 miles?

Opps, sorry, it's a 97 LS

I'm thinking that if there's any major problem it'll be a big difference, so we'll just see what happens!

I think as long as your +/- 10 from each cylinder...you should be fine...

As said before, just make sure there isn't too much variance between the cylinders. Come back and tell us your results. Depending on the results, it can be either good or bad. If it's bad, there are a couple of tricks you can do to determine what's wrong.

Good luck. Make sure you keep the throttle at WOT when you do the test. Otherwise your numbers will be all significantly lower than 150-180ish.
