Compression Loss
I think Acura is trying to screw me. Let me tell you a summed up version. The only thing on my car is NGK plugs/wires. I threw a CEL about 4k well after the plugs/wires were installed (they were put on correctly, no rough idle, no missing). Just the other day, my CEL flashes at me and the car is missing relatively bad at idle. I take it in, the guy tells me that they are the wrong plugs and wires. He's dead wrong. I put the OEM stuff back on, reset the ECU, CEL comes on about 5 minutes after driving with the same results. Turns out, I'm losing compression in the 3rd Cyl. and the valves are ticking pretty loud. I DON'T rag my car, I drive like a grandma back and forth to work. He tried to snowball me the other day and tell me the wires were put on wrong. First of all, that's horsepoo poo. If the wires are plugged in wrong, as soon as you crank the car it will be missing its *** off. It doesn't start missing until 5 minutes after I crank it ,the CEL trips, and its idling. What should I know to better equip myself from this guy BS'ing me, because he tried to yesterday and I called him on it and he started backsliding because he thought he was talking to an idiot. I don't know everything, but if anyone has any additional info to help me keep from getting screwed on my warranty, speak up please.
do the wires and plugs have part numbers that correspond to your model car? maybe show him those? as far as installing them correctly, its his word agaisnt yours! if he isnt a service manager goto the service manager, they are usually more friendly to people.
I told them I verified the plugs and wires w/NAPA along with NGK and they panned out. He didn't respond. I'm now getting told a freeze code was registered and that I mis-shifted and over-revved (horse poo poo). I think I'm going to get raped. Any help here?
