I have a ls/vtec a1/c1, my head gasket is leaking a little and just ordered a golden eagle last night... anyways, Will the leaking of the the head gasket cause a loss in compression atleast a small loss???

my compression was decent at 205 on all 4, but was wondering if the new gasket will raise it a little?

A leaking head gasket does not necessarily affect the compression. You could kust be leaking coolant or oil. Also if you did have a loss in compression, it would typically affect only one cylinder. Replacing the gasket will most likely not affect your compression. Keep in mind that the ultimate compression number (i.e. 205 psig) is dependent on the compression gauge.

 

Thanks man, i was just wondering, its just leaking oil as of now, just don't want something to go wrong till i get it swaped out
