Ask him what is causing the loss in compression. I guess that is what you are talking about

Did they perform a compression check? If so, what were the numbers? Did you overrev recently?

Your valves may need to be adjusted as well. The only ways to really overrev is to misshift from say 3rd to 2nd at redline, which causes a mechanical overrev, or to install a chipped ECU that has a high (or no ) rev limiter. WHo installed the head?

as long 4 cylinder is consistent, like it will tell you whats wrong with the motor, like leaking, and other ****. get a compression test, is not so hard, if you search there will be some link you can find that help you do your own compression test. gl

Am I missing something here? What is the problem?

If it doesn't have compression and it is head related, my money is on a bent valve. The head will have to be pulled and the valve replaced. Had the same thing happen to me. It wouldn't start, so I pulled the valve cover and one of cylinder 3's intake valves was stuck in the down position causing 0 compression.
