Filter condom, highly suggest using one if you're running a CAI.

Might want to check the Market-place when you're not a trial user for a used V2.

or you can get the bypass by AEM bypass valve. and to the OP if you want to save money just buy a cheap CAI from ebay throw away the filter and replace it with a k&n filter.

I don't know about the Ebay pipes...they're not street legal so you could run into problems with it...also they can suffer big time from heat soak....D

The only difference between 98% of brand intakes vs. eBay pipes is the sticker it comes with. The V2 is an exception but I don't think its worth the extra cash

EBay pipe, ditch the filter, get a better one "ie. K&N" and you should be good...

Only in California and other places that check.

x2. Get the ebay CAI and slap on a good filter. Don't drive through puddles that can submerge your filter and you won't hydrolock. Funny thing, I had an EG that I cut a hole in the bumper where the fog light was and ran a nice pipe off a vacuum cleaner down there connected to my tiny *** CX stock intake box and ran it during a storm in Seattle. I never had any problems and it rains almost everyday here.

So there isnt any difference between a v2 AEM cold air intake pipe and a $10 ebay pipe?

Are they both going to give me the same performance boost and nose?

because $300 and $10 is a big difference for everything being the same

very minor differences. IMO don't waste your money for 2-3hp that could be used to pay for a month or two worth of gas. Unless you are building a shrine for your car or have money to spend, investing that much on an intake isn't worth it.

Aren't the AEM pipes ceramic coated so there is less heat transfer?...not that it matters 'cause you could mimic that with a wrap or something. I say go the Ebay route and save the cash for something else..D

The only difference between the cheap pipes and the expensive AEM ones are basically the CARB legal sticker, unless you get a v2.

Also suggest you get a AEM Bypass valve if you get a CAI.
