I was driving to work this morning. I was on a windy curve. I hit the rev limiter and shifted. Right then the check engine light came on. It seemed to be fine. I just grabbed a paper clip and went downstairs to get the code. I checked the dipstick, oil is about 1 quart low(bottom hole). Could this be my problem or do I need to look else where.

Also is it possible that the curve, plus low oil caused starvation and low oil pressure which would kill vtec?

 

Yes. I'd be much more concerned if you weren't down a quart.

 

I added a quart and a quarter and pulled the backup fuse. I babied it on the way home. Opened up to check out vtec once I was close to home. No light for now. Maybe that was it.

 

i had that happen all the time when i had my VAFC in.
