For the past month or so it has been a little difficult shifting gears in my 95 Integra most of the time my car shifted smoothly, but a couple of times a day I found myself exerting a little extra force on my shifter in order to change gears.

Yesterday morning, for the first time, I couldn't even shift into first gear.
I tried forcing it into first gear and my car immediatly stalled out. Does anyone know what is wrong with my car?

 

start with checking the shift linkage itself...look for loose bolts..play in the linkage itself...that can cause notchy shifting
